President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari dies of COVID-19 on Friday, April 17, 2020.
Abba Kyari’s death was announced on Twitter by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.
News that Mallam Abba Kyari had tested positive for COVID-19 first broke on March 24, about 10 days after he returned from a trip to Germany.
Since 27 February, 2020, when the first confirmed case of the COVID-19 was announced in Nigeria, the country has recorded 493 confirmed cases with 17 lives lost, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Prior to his death, Abba Kyari was considered as a very formidable and influential member of the present administration in Nigeria.
